What is grammar and why it is important

Grammar is a set of rules for how to put words together so they make sense when we speak or write.

Imagine you're building with LEGO stones a house, and you need a guide that shows you how to fit the pieces together to make that house. In language, grammar is that guide. It tells you where to put nouns (like "dog" or "house"), verbs (like "run" or "sing"), and other types of words so that others can understand what you're trying to say or write.
